About Us Habitat for Humanity

    Greetings

Thank you for sharing the Habitat mission

‘Thank you for sharing the Habitat Mission of building ‘a world where everyone has a decent place to live’.
    I most sincerely welcome you’

Families living in poor living conditions tend to suffer from various health issues and low academic achievements. Unstable housing often means the absence of financial stability, thus unable to enjoy cultural and social life. Adequate housing is the foundation on which the families can build their dreams.

In light of this, Habitat Korea pursues its mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Habitat Korea has engaged with more people in need of adequate housing since its establishment in 1994. Habitat Korea has helped homeowners both within and beyond the border and shared our experience of graduating from a country that received international aid to a country that provides aid.

Habitat has offered the opportunity to better oneself not just to the homeowners, but also to the donors and volunteers. Even for corporate partners, being a part of Habitat’s work has meant more than Corporate Social Responsibility and been a moment of bonding.

Like this, step-by-step, day-by-day, Habitat Korea is building a world where everyone has a decent place to live, and, on behalf of Habitat Korea, I would like to kindly invite you to be part of it.

HyungJu Yoon, Chairman of Habitat for Humanity Korea

Habitat Korea will painstakingly work to achieve a higher level of transparency and accountability.

Since its beginning in 1994, Habitat Korea has offered more than 24,000 families opportunities to be self-reliant through adequate housing. Adequate housing is the foundation on which dreams are made and hopes string.

In spite of the success, Habitat Korea intends to move further. We seek to meet the increasing demand for adequate housing, sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic, through effective, efficient and sustainable means.

Additionally, to acknowledge the unwavering support for Habitat Korea from donors, volunteers, and homeowners, Habitat Korea will painstakingly work to achieve a higher level of transparency and accountability.

While we all understand the importance of adequate housing in human development and future success, building ‘a world where everyone has a decent place to live’ is not an easy task. Nevertheless, because you care for those who are in need of decent housing, it will not stay a mere dream.

With your passion, work with Habitat Korea to help those in need of adequate housing realise their full potential.

Kwanghoi Lee, National Director of Habitat for Humanity Korea
